Vila Vivari is located in a natural landscape favored with green orchards, gardens, crystal clear sea and beach of a genuine beauty.
We are family owned hotel and our aim is to provide our services with sustainability and dedicated to preserving this environment for our children. Therefor we participate in supporting the local community, green products and ecological initiatives.
Tourism is a significant source of pollution. To reduce ecological impact of cleaning and washing we use only ecological products manufactured by Greek company MyPlanet. These products contain ingredients derived from vegetable oils, instead of petrochemical substances, their active chemical constituents are biodegradable to carbon dioxide, water and salts, they do not contain phosphates (primary cause of eutrophication in aquatic environments), nor boron compounds (harmful to some plants such as citrus fruits), they are not tested on animals and all packaging are 100% recyclable, while maintaining the same quality of cleaning process as other premium products.
The EU Ecolabel is a voluntary programme promoting environmental products and services that have a reduced environmental impact throughout their life cycle, from the extraction of raw material through to production, use and disposal. Recognised throughout Europe, it is a symbol of excellence and commitment to environmental sustainability and future. By using ecologically degradable and respectable chemicals and detergents, applying green practices, measures to minimise energy losses, and reduce consumption of energies we voluntarily participate in this programme.
The Green Leaders is a Tripadvisor programme ensuring sustainable tourism. Only hotels supporting eco-friendly practices that are committed to green recycling, energy management, waste management, support to local and organic food and electric car charging stations etc. are allowed to be part of this group of selected hotels.
Vila Vivari is proud to be awarded a Silver medal in this programme developed under the United Nations Environmental Programme, Energy Star Programme and U.S. Green Building Council.
Vila Vivari is situated in a green environment amongst pistachio, orange and mandarin trees. In this little village in rural Greece our traditional and innovative architecture meets natural and cultural landscape and shows that the modern can go hand in hand with cultural heritage and good, old-fashioned craftsmanship using natural resources, wood and stone. During constructions we focused on maintaining existing trees, using natural materials and avoid any changes in landscape. Our swimming pool is situated in gardens and enclosed with trees and orchards, just like parking and common areas. While no two rooms are alike, all the rooms are protected from direct sunlight to avoid overheating and extensive air-conditioning in the summer while keeping the interiors lighted. Glass window walls of King size Apartment 1 and Maisonette capture the feeling of being connected with the nature.
To support local producers, one third of the food used in restaurant and hotel is produced in Argolis region and more than two thirds of the total food we use is produced in Greece.
Besides supporting local community, we use our gardens to grow biological food without using any arteficial substances, sprays or fertilization. Depending on the season our guests are invited to taste our bio tomatoes, grapes, lemons and grapefruits.
We encourage our guests to participate in our initiative and help us maintaining environment clean. We have developed a set of practices contributing to the goal. Although very simple advices (re-using towels and sheets on the next day, preserving water, switching off air-condition and lights etc.), when being applied by our guests, they are powerful and have great impact. You can find various educational and guidance materials in our rooms and public areas which are aimed to help keeping our hotel, beach, sea, Greece and the Earth for our children.
Protect the beauty around you, so that Your children may one day see it as well.
